- Computer-assisted sperm analysis (CASA) system has been introduced as a method for the examination of sperm movement and morphology over 40 years (Amann and Waberski, 2014). Subsequently, CASA has become one of the most acceptable tools to evaluate semen quality due to the reliable and meaningful results. There are more than half of sprmatology labs using CASA system as the routine semen analysis instrument (Lu et al., 2014), including in human and different animal species. Typical CASA system components include automated-mechanical sample thermostage, phase-contrast microscope, image capture camera and computing software. It has been more and more accurate and efficient because of the image capturing, recording and computing technology were improved very rapidly.
